Our Story
We are a Christian band. What does that mean?
We want people to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. So our songs
focus on life lessons and how God is there to help us through it all.
We are mostly self-taught musicians. Julleah has been singing since 3 years old and her only
formal instruction has been church choirs. She took piano at 4 years old for about a year. Curtis took
lessons for marching snare drum for about a month. It was enough to get him interested in drums.
So his uncle, who is a drummer, taught him some simple beats and let him use his drum set. Cole
started messing around with his guitar about the same time and got serious when Curtis asked
him if he wanted to play some cover songs for fun.
So how did we all get together?
Curtis and Cole started "jamming" at Curtis' house. Then his mother ran into an old friend, whose
son played bass and had to have brain surgery. He was temporarily being home-schooled and was able
to join the band while he recovered. Next we started searching for a singer and began praying that
God would bring someone to us. That Sunday Curtis' cousin,Julleah, sang at church and we asked her to
join the band. She said,"Yes!". From then on we started to practice and write our own songs. Eventually,
our bass player recovered from surgery, returned to high school to finish his senior year, and left the
band.
We started looking for places to play and God opened the door for our first live performance at
Relay for Life, a life-changing event that brings people together to:
- Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer.
- Remember loved ones lost to the disease.
- Fight Back.
This event has special meaning to the band because two of the members have parents that are cancer
survivors.
What are we doing now?
God has given us the opportunity to play and tell others about Him at another Relay for Life event.
We continue to have Bible study and pray together and of course making a joyful noise to the Lord.
